Hundreds of gold coins and bronze putto discovered in Roman sanctuary (www.intoscana.it)

The excavation at the Roman sanctuary of the ancient Roman baths in San Casciano, near Siena Italy, has brought to light some extraordinary finds, including hundreds of gold, silver and bronze coins, the bas-relief of the muzzle of a bull, five sacred bronzes of offerers, a putto in bronze and then belts in bronze foil, miniature torches, clubs of Hercules and other sacred artefacts.
